Farboud was chosen as the recipient of 2021 Lauren E. Brubaker Carolinian Award. This award recognizes an undergraduate or graduate student who best exemplifies one or more qualities of the Carolinian Creed by Practicing personal and academic integrity; Respecting the dignity of all persons; Respecting the rights and property of others; Discouraging bigotry while striving to learn differences in people, ideas, and opinions; Demonstrating concern for others, their feelings, and their need for conditions that support their work and development. It is given in memory of Dr. Lauren E. Brubaker, former Chair of the Department of Religious Studies and University Chaplain from 1949-1994.
