Joshua Widawsky, a 2021 and 2022 graduate of the University of South Carolina, has built a multifaceted career grounded in engineering, leadership, and operations. After earning his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and his M.B.A. in Global Supply Chain, Operations, and Logistics, Josh now serves as the Director of Program Management for USC’s Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing. In this role, he supports the planning and execution of projects across the McNAIR Center for Aerospace Innovation and Research and the Center for Industry Solutions, ensuring smooth operations and strategic coordination across multiple initiatives.
Josh credits USC with giving him the foundation—and the opportunities—needed to advance within the organization. From scholarship support that initially drew him to the university, to hands-on work as a Resident Mentor, to research experiences at the McNAIR Center, each step played a meaningful role in shaping his path. These experiences allowed him to grow professionally, build connections, and develop the technical and leadership skills that define his work today.
When offering advice to current USC students, Josh emphasizes looking beyond the classroom. “Focus on your classes, but do not overlook the skills and abilities you will need throughout life,” he says. He highlights personal finance as essential for building long-term freedom and encourages students to strengthen skills such as communication and leadership, qualities he believes will carry them further than any degree or certification alone.
