Adel Nasiri

Prof. Nasiri joined the University of South Carolina in 2021 after 16 years at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where he held multiple leadership roles including Associate Dean for Research, endowed professor, and director of major interdisciplinary energy research centers. He has extensive experience leading federally and industry-sponsored research projects and previously worked in both startup and international power engineering environments. His research focuses on high-power and high-voltage energy conversion, energy storage systems, and microgrids, with applications in renewable and sustainable energy systems. Prof. Nasiri has published widely in top technical journals and conferences, holds seven patents, and has co-authored two books. He is an active leader within IEEE, serving in senior editorial and committee chair roles that help shape the future of power electronics and sustainable energy research.
