Abstract

A semianalytical method of lines is presented for solving elliptic partial differential equations, which are often used to describe steady-state mass and energy transport in solids. The method provides a semianalytical solution for linear equations and can be used to obtain explicit symbolic series solutions in one of the independent variables for non-linear equations. © 2003 Elsevier Ltd.
