The goal of the project is to is to optimize the operation of complicated water systems such as river basin systems and reservoirs. Simulation optimization models will be developed for modeling the water resource systems and hydrologic predictions will be incorporated into the modelling to account for the inherent uncertainties associated with water resource processes and different optimization approaches will be used to make the results of the optimization more usable for decision makers.
We are also working on the application of Artificial Intelligence in hydrologic modelling as an alternative to conceptual models as well using AI for post processing the long term forecasts of hydrologic forecast models and Remote Sensing data before using them as inputs to water resources management models.
