The Center for Industry Solutions was excited to take part in this year’s MCEC Open House! We brought SPOT and he quickly became the star of the day!
From the moment SPOT walked through the doors, he was able to draw a large crowd. Students, families, and faculty gathered to watch live demonstrations and snap photos as the robot navigated the space. For many visitors, it was their first time seeing advanced robotics up close. This sparked plenty of questions about how this technology is being used in the real world.
Throughout the event, our team shared how tools like SPOT support industry applications such as facility inspections, data collection, and improving workplace safety. More importantly, we talked about how MCEC students gain hands-on experience with emerging technologies through partnerships and applied projects supported by the Center for Industry Solutions.
The Open House provided a great opportunity to connect with future engineers and showcase the practical, career-focused learning that defines MCEC. We’re proud to be part of a community that brings innovation out of the lab and into real-world impact and judging by the excitement around SPOT, the future of engineering is in good hands.
