Meet Boston Dynamics robot dog SPOT! He is currently supporting advanced learning and real-world problem solving at the Center for Industry Solutions. Students gain hands-on experience using cutting edge technology as they learn to program, operate, and collaborate with SPOT across a range of applications.

SPOT'S Functions

Industrial Inspection

SPOT navigates manufacturing sites to capture high-resolution images and data, helping to identify product defects, assembly issues, and equipment wear. These inspections can significantly improve quality, efficiency, and workplace saftey. 

Smart Maintenance

With advanced sensors and onboard computing, SPOT monitors machines and infrastructures to detect early warning signs of potential failures. By alerting teams before problems escalate, SPOT helps reduce downtime and costly repairs. 

Autonomous Operation

SPOT performs many tasks, guided and supervised by a trained operator using a controller. When its battery runs low, SPOT automatically returns to its docking station, recharges, and continues inspections, working tirelessly around the clock.

SPOT is a motivation for the next generation of innovators. From school visits to community outreach events, SPOT sparks curiosity, encourages exploration of AI and engineering, and inspires future careers in technology.
